The decisive advantage lies in the elimination of tool changes and simultaneous process control within a single job. While conventional plotters have to interrupt the cutting process in order to switch between kiss-cut (scoring the film) and full cut (punching through the carrier) manually or using a holder, the BladeX2 controls both heads asynchronously. This means that head 1 performs the contour cut with precisely calibrated contact pressure, while head 2 separates the sheet immediately afterwards - this reduces the throughput time per sheet by up to 50 % and massively increases net productivity.

Conventional infrared sensors often reach their limits with transparent media (such as UV-DTF sticker carriers) or high-gloss surfaces, as the light beam is either absorbed or diffusely reflected. The high-resolution CCD camera integrated in the BladeX2 is image-based and uses intelligent algorithms to analyse contrast. It "sees" the printed register mark as an optical image, regardless of the nature of the substrate, and compensates for distortion or skewing of the medium in real time. This guarantees unrivalled register accuracy, even with critical UV sticker productions on crystal-clear films.

The BladeX2 is designed as an industrial component and offers maximum flexibility in terms of location and connectivity with USB, Ethernet (LAN) and WLAN. The plotter can be integrated as a network resource via the LAN interface, allowing multiple workstations to send cutting jobs to the queue simultaneously. In combination with the DrawCut PRO software, barcode workflows can also be realised: The plotter scans a barcode on the printed sheet, automatically loads the corresponding cut file from the server and starts the job without manual intervention by the operator. Plug-ins for Illustrator and CorelDraw are also available.

In contrast to cheaper stepper motors, which move in discrete steps, the servo motors of the BladeX2 utilise a closed loop with permanent feedback of the position data. This not only enables extreme speeds of up to 1200 mm/s, but above all ensures smooth, jerk-free acceleration and deceleration of the cutting head. The result is perfectly closed cutting paths and absolutely clean curves without "tooth formation", which makes all the difference in terms of quality, especially with small lettering in advertising technology or filigree labels.
